No. You are our customer. We do not get referral fees or kickbacks from contractors based on the treatments we recommend.
All of our services are flat-fee so you never question whether we're recommending something you don't need. We save most customers 5-10x what they spend on an initial consultation.
Before your initial consultation, please make sure the specialist can walk around your home to examine vents, windows, and other exterior features.
It's generally better to wait until after your consultation to begin work. The rules are technical and complex, and it's easy to spend money and time on things that aren't required or end up having to be re-done.
Most initial consultations take 2.5 hours but can range from 2-4 hours depending on the number of structures and the size of the property. Your risk specialist will meet with you for about 15 minutes at the beginning to understand any areas of concern and again at the end to highlight their findings and answer your questions. It's most efficient if you go about your day while the evaluator does their work.
Final inspections typically take one hour or less.
No. We recommend that you or your representative be present, but it is not required. If you are unable to be present, please mention this when scheduling.
Defensible space inspections typically cover landscaping and trees around your structure out to 100 feet and do not necessarily incorporate the latest scientific guidelines. The Wildfire Prepared Home evaluation covers landscaping out to 30 feet and the house's features that could make it vulnerable to being destroyed during a wildfire.
No. We do not conduct code enforcement nor issue citations. Our job is to help you protect your home from wildfires and identify options to mitigate risks.
